The Odyssey of a Perfumer: Dominique Ropion

Frédéric Malle and Dominique Ropion met at Laboratoires Roure-Bertrand more than thirty years ago. Since the creation of Editions de Parfums twenty years ago, the two men have developed a very strong bond.

Ranked among the world's best perfumers, Dominique Ropion has already composed 9 perfumes for the Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle collection, including the enchanting tuberose CARNAL FLOWER in 2005, the sublime rose-chypre PORTRAIT OF A LADY in 2010, and the amber-rose PROMISE, now an essential part of the Desert Gems Collection.

The eclecticism resulting from these creations demonstrates Dominique Ropion's ability to excel in all types of perfumes. Discovering his compositions is a journey through the entire universe of perfumery and its great archetypes: a Cologne (COLOGNE INDELEBILE 2015), a vetiver (VETIVER EXTRAORDINAIRE), an amber floral (Une Fleur de Cassie 2000), a tuberose (CARNAL FLOWER 2005), an amber rose (PORTRAIT OF A LADY 2010), and two ouds (THE NIGHT 2014, PROMISE 2017).
